The Devils have signed goaltender Scott Wedgewood to a three-year entry level contract worth a total of $1.92 million.
Wedgewood, a 19-year-old native of Etobicoke, Ontario, was a New Jersey 2010 third-round draft pick, picked 84th overall.
In 42 games this season with the OHL’s Plymouth Whalers, Wedgewood has registered a 28-9-2-1 record with a 2.97 goals-against average, with three shutouts.
Wedgewood also helped Team Canada with the bronze medal at the 2012 World Junior championships, going 2-0-0 with a 2.42 GAA, .916 save percentage and one shutout in three appearances. He wasn’t able to bring Canada to the gold medal game, but he still had a decent performance.
