The Good: Raycroft’s Outstanding reflexes, a quick glove and excellent footspeed allow him to make the first save effectively. The 2004 Calder trophy winner was a revelation to most as an NHL rookie, but not to the Bruins scouts, who made the decision to draft him in the 5th round in 1998. They were drawn by his ability to read the play and position himself for easy saves. When he’s on his game, his positioning and technique are solid Raycroft has an athletic build and a positive attitude towards each game. He has proven success in the NHL.

The Bad: After winning the 2004 Calder Trophy as the leagues best player, Raycroft’s career has just gone down the toilet. Since 2007, Raycroft hasn’t played more than 31 games in one season and has only recorded 10+ wins once during that time span. He can easily be beaten upstairs. Razor needs to keep focusing on the consistency aspects of the game, as he lets in the odd soft goal.
