The Good: A big goaltender who covers a lot of net and plays well positionally. He has a very good frame for the goaltending position. He has not faced top quality opposition, but has played extremely well against Tier-2 shooters. York must improve his lateral mobility. He stays composed in big games and has held up very well under pressure. as a very good frame for the goaltending position. Can play a lot with Springfield of the AHL. With injuries and inconsistent play by Curtis Sanford, Steve Mason and Mark Dekanich, York has been given chances to play with the big club in Columbus.
The Bad: It’s still yet to be seen what he can do as a starter in pro hockey. York needs to add more bulk and consistency to be a successful ‘keeper at the highest level. He shows good fight, but must improve his quickness.
