The Good: Johan Hedberg works his [rear end] off and is just a  great locker room guy. Every single person likes his love for the game.  He plays with both poise and passion between the pipes. Just like Martin Broduer, Hedberg can make a spectacular save look routine. He can, and has so far this season,  fill in as a starting goalie in a pinch. He is a hybrid goalie with good reflexes and a nice, quick glove hand. He uses his stick well to break up plays around the net, something Brodeur also does very well. He plays well under pressure and doesn’t get flustered easily. There are a ton of similarities between Hedberg and Brodeur, but Broduer is still the much better goalie. Hedberg has made the most with every single team he has been on, and at a cheap price ($1,250,000), he is definetly a good bang for your buck. Again, just like Brodeur, Hedberg is one of the leagues best puck handlers.

The Bad: He can occasionally allow a goal from a bad angle or from distance, something that has haunted him for his entire career. He isn’t durable enough to play 60-plus games in the National Hockey League. Once again, just like Brodeur, Hedberg is aging (38), so his best years are behind him. He never had an amazing season in the NHL.
