The Good:  Harding has a good frame, athleticism and starting goalie upside.  He takes full advantage of his above-average right catching glove to fool shooters. and since he doesn’t play much, most are not used to him. On September 24, 2010, Harding tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee in a preseason game in St. Louis, and missed the entire 2010–11 season, but he has rebounded this season with an impressive performance. He started the 2011-2012 season with four straight wins, playing big in every single match. Harding was a top prospect in the Wild organization back in 2006 and 2007, and has played quite well behind Niklas Backstrom. Harding is very athletic, and can make some nice show-stopping saves. He would really benefit from a new home, as Matt Hackett is ready to backup Backstrom.

The Bad: After tearing two ligaments in his right knee during an exhibition game, Harding needed reconstructive surgery and missed the entire 2010-11 season. That’s a debilitating injury for a goalie, given the strain they put on their joints in games and practice. He may be fine, but this doesn’t mean it wont affect him in the long run. He must add more consistency to his game in order to develop into an impact NHL goalkeeper and needs to continue making adjustments to pro shooters. His blocker hand isn’t spectacular, being on  his left hand instead of the usual right. He hasn’t accomplished much during his short career.
