The Good:  Khabibulin is a savvy veteran and a clutch performer. He can play an electrifying, acrobatic style that leaves fans on the edge of their seat. He has the ability to win games by himself, something he has been able to do on every single team he has played for. Nobody thought Khabibulin would be one of the top goalies through October, mainly because he was so brutal last year, then spent time in jail over the summer. But when a goalie shows a true desire to prove his worth and fulfill his contract, as long as he’s healthy and focused, he’s primed to succeed. The Bulin Wall has had some cracks in recent years, but for the most part has been a very reliable goaltender. Edmonton fans might not agree, but when the entire team struggles, you can’t blame him. Big part of the 2004 Stanley Cup winning Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Bad: His unpredictable style makes him vulnerable against teams that go to the net consistently, such as Detroit.  One of his major weaknesses’ is his difficulty with rebounds. He lets the puck hit him too much, letting the puck go straight to an opposing player. He also struggles handling the puck behind the net and don’t expect him to make any amazing passes. He has struggled to win games on a weak team.
